TOPIC: EXPANSION THROUGH EVANGELISM

TEXT: Mt.:28:18-20

INTRODUCTION

In Mt. 16:18-19 Jesus declares the greatest work on earth --- the church which Satan’s arsenals would never be able to topple. Nothing can stop the advance of the church. Do you know what material is used to construct this tabernacle? It is us.   (1 Peter 2:4). We need to supply the materials, which are living stones (souls), for the building of the tabernacle. The more souls we win, the more materials there are for the building. The more materials there are, the faster the completion of the building will be, and the sooner will be the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is coming for His bride—the church.  He cannot move into an uncompleted house. This is why we need to evangelize. It is the greatest mission.

  1. THE STRATEGY FOR THE MISSION

Mt. 28:18-20 says “Go ye” and not “Sit ye”. There are four action words in these verses: “Go,” “Make disciples,” “Baptize,” and “Teach”.

We cannot teach a person to observe all things that Christ has commanded unless the person is baptized. Baptism means having a clean break from the world, and identifying with Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection. No one will be (or should be) baptized unless he/she has converted or become a disciple. And no one will be converted unless you go to him/her with the gospel. Therefore, it all starts with us obeying the command to “Go!” The whole church has to get busy about the King’s business. The key to this whole endeavour is, “Go ye!”

  1. YOUR ROLE IN THE MISSION

(Read Romans 10:6-17)

v. 6-10. These verses show that Christ has done His part. He has finished the work, and as we minister His word, it produces faith. If acted upon, this faith brings about salvation in a person’s heart. Salvation is the product of confession and believing.

v.11-14. These verses outline the process;

                  i.       Believe

                  ii.      Confess or call on the name of Jesus

The process though is hindered without a preacher: no one will confess Christ unless he believes, and he cannot believe unless he hears Christ preached.

No one will hear unless we go and preach, and/or support those who go.

Consider the millions who are slipping into eternity without Christ: members of your family, friends, colleagues, and many people you do not know………

How will you answer to God for the apathy and unconcerned attitude about the lost?

Eze. 3:17-21 (please read). All of us will have to answer to God.

SOLUTION

Actively witness!  Summer is here and we all have to take part in evangelising for souls to populate heaven and to de-populate hell. We need our building materials. Each cell should have a plan to witness this summer and grow the cell. If you need tracts, Please see Pastor Thomas at the church office. Do not forget to sponsor a church planter also, so that you become partners with them in their reward! Remember we have very little time to bring in Christ’s soon return!
